Amalia Guestroom is a delightful room with private bathroom and beautiful views over the Prinsengracht canal.
It is a very romantic accommodation, located in the city centre of Amsterdam, and much recommended not only couples, but individuals looking for comfort and peace.
The room is light and tastefully furnished. It offers cable TV, Nespresso coffee machine and in-suite bathroom.
The location is really perfect, meaning that you can walk to all the major tourist hot spots or easily hop on a tram. And after a long day exploring you can relax with a drink by the windows and watch the boats and life go by.
Business guests will find the location very convenient too, as it is walking distance to easy public transport, taking you in a few minutes to the RAI convention centre or other business areas in or outside the city centre.
The accommodation offers a little terrace in front of the building, with views to the canal, where you can sit to have a drink or coffee.
One thing to note: the Amalia doesn't offer breakfast. But there is a very nice café right next door that your host recommends and have arranged a discount with.
Please read the area description here below for more info.
Map of location
This accommodation is set on the Prinsengracht canal, close to the Rembrandt square, tourist attractions and night life (although quiet area).
You'll be close to Utrechtsestraat, which is a lovely street with many small cafes, cute restaurants and boutique shops. There you can try the typical "haring" (herring) in one of our famous fish kiosks on its bridges, enter in the Concerto, our biggest music store in the city specialised in classical and jazz, walk into design furniture shops, have a fancy haircut, sit on a café or coffeeshop (the trendy "Boeren Jongens" coffee shop), have your favourite drink on a terrace, buy clothes, shoes, books, kitchen utensils, and so many more to discover. There are countless restaurants to enjoy there, from French cuisine to Indonesian, Mexican, Vietnamese, Indian, Thai, etc...
From there you can easily walk to other close-by areas:
The Rembrandt Square, with cafés, cinema and night life;
The Amstel river with our most charming Skinny Bridge and the Carré Theatre, the museum Hermitage Amsterdam, the National Opera and Ballet Theatre, and the Waterloop Square with its flea market.
Onto another direction you'll get first to the Amstelveld square, with the organic plants market on Mondays and nice cafés, and walking further you'll get to the chic art galleries quarter and the way to the Rijksmuseum. If you walk down the Utrechtsestraat you'll find yourself in the most bohemien area: the Pijp area with the famous Albert Cuyp market and the Heineken Experience brewery tour.
So much to see only at walking distance... But if you want to go to further areas, don't worry, there is a tram stop just 100m from your doorsteps!
