The Gallery Guesthouse offers 2 bedrooms, with shared bathroom, kitchen and a balcony. You'll have your own keys and privacy.
The room #2 is the smallest room, but very comfortable with a double bed indeed. It offers a little table with 2 chairs, that you can use as a desk or to eat. Free WiFi.
The guests can use the fully equipped kitchen, which are shared with other guests and the owner too. For that reason it is asked to keep it clean and tidy after you have used it.
The bathroom is large for Dutch standards, very tidy and it has separate bathtub and shower cabin.
The balcony is cosy and it has a little table with chairs, where you can sit for breakfast.
The house has a lot of art and paintings on the walls, so there is always something interesting to see and it gives the property a homely and cozy feeling.
The owner lives on his own and is very friendly and accommodating. He is used to welcome guests from all over the world and can give you tips on where to go, what to do, where to eat, shopping etc.
Slightly out of the busy centre, this guesthouse is located near the Beatrix Park and the Rai Exhibition Centre, so very handy for guests and business people visiting the many great events it hosts. And with good public transport this guesthouse is easy to get to: in just 10 minutes into the city by tram, or you can also walk to the Museum Square in just 20 minutes.
Read the area description here below for more info.
Map of location
This guesthouse is located in the Oud-Zuid (old south) area of the city, just outside the city centre and, although very quiet to sleep, it is close to many famous places, not yet discovered by many tourists.
There are very nice houses and beautiful architecture in this neighbourhood. The Zuider Amstelkanaal, which is a nice place to sit and watch the ducks and other birds, runs in front of the building. From there you can walk to the Beatrix Park and RAI Exhibition Centre.
There are also plenty of shops around the corner and some nice trendy cafe's and restaurants, so you don't need to travel far.
In case you do want to go further, there is a tram stop about 50m away, so getting into the old city centre is very easy indeed.
You can also hire bicycles for more fun and independence - or walk it to discover the countless shops along the way.
You'll be in just 20 minutes walk to the AlbertCuyp Market (big street market open every day, except on Sundays) or the Museum Square, where the Van Gogh Museum, Rijksmuseum and Stedelijkmuseum are located.
It is possible to walk to Vondelpark and Leidseplein too, but you'll find that a tram ride to those places - or Dam Square and Central Station - is a comfortable and quick way to discover Amsterdam too.
